IS THIS A "REAL" MONTESSORI SCHOOL?
We get this question a lot. So often that our partner, MPPI, helped us bring you a resource to answer it! There is not a single answer of a school that is "right" for every family. There is no "Best School" in any area. There are, however, elements that define a successful Montessori implementation. What are they?
The Montessori name is not protected by a trademark. Any entity can use the name. The American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Association Montessori International (AMI) cooperatively defined fundamental elements necessary for an "authentic Montessori school", published by MPPI as the MONTESSORI ESSENTIALS. They concluded it is "critical that all of these elements be present in order for the Montessori approach to be successfully implemented". (click the icon below to get the list)
